At DETAILED GIBSTOPPING LIMITED, our reputation is built upon clean lines, flat surfaces, and durable joint integrity. Because we provide specialized trade services rather than mass off-the-shelf goods, our “returns” and customer satisfaction commitments operate through comprehensive quality guarantees, pre-paint audits, and prompt on-site defect rectification.

2. Standards Benchmark (AS/NZS 2589:2017)

All stopping, jointing, and skim coating work is evaluated against the criteria set forth in AS/NZS 2589:2017 (Gypsum Linings — Application and Finishing). Surfaces are inspected under normal diffuse light at a distance of 1.5 meters perpendicular to the wall.

3. Pre-Paint Inspection & Walk-Through

• Joint Walk-Through: Upon completing final dustless sanding, our lead stopper conducts a walk-through with the client or site foreman to review all joint feathering, internal/external angles, and fastener flushness.
• 14-Day Touch-Up Window: In the event that a painter identifies any minor pinholes, sanding swirl marks, or ridge discrepancies during their sealer/undercoat application, Detailed Gibstopping Limited will return to touch up and re-sand affected areas at zero additional charge within 14 calendar days.

4. Rectification of Shrinkage or Movement

Should minor hair-line cracks appear during initial home settling due to timber shrinkage within the first 12 months, our team provides discounted or warrantied maintenance visits to V-groove, re-tape with high-tensile paper tape, and re-skim the joint.

5. Consumer Guarantees Act Compliance

Nothing in this policy limits or diminishes the consumer rights granted under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Building Act 2004. Residential clients are entitled to services carried out with reasonable care, fit for purpose, and completed within a reasonable timeframe.
